My German Shepard ate a possum help?

my dog it killed a possum last night and me and my dad saw when it killed it. we didn't do anything because we were gonna get rid of it in the morning. we didn't see any evidence of it is there a chance he ate it? if he ate it how do i find out? can something be wrong with him? he looks normal
