Parents who waited to find out the gender of their baby?

Me and my husband is expecting our first baby very soon. We decide to not know the gender since he or she will be our first baby. I wanted to no from parents who have also waited to find our the baby gender till the birth, was it worth waiting? How rewarding was it? I was doing fine without knowing but this last month has seem to be the hardest, im very excited. Any people have stories?
