I hate my partner/boyfriends dog.?

I need advice people .. I have been in a relationship for 7 months. My partner owns a staffordshire terrier. He is now living at my house and the problem is that I cant stand his dog. I am not a dog person at all, neither am I a cat person... I have encouraged native wildlife such as lizards and native birds & possums into my yard ( I own my house). The dog has killed a large blue-tongue lizard and a baby possum so far. he has had the dog for seven years and is of course mega attached to it. I find myself getting angry every time I see it ! It grosses me out and I think that he should get rid of it. Is our relationship doomed ?
